1. How do I clean the gold surface?

Carefully, using a high purity solvent (ethanol is recommended) as a wash. Cotton wipes along with solvent and light pressure may be used to clean difficult to reach areas.

WARNING: Never use any cleaner containing abrasives.

2. What is the process to make these?

Conductive media is applied to the glass, followed by a thick layer of copper plating. We then electroplate a thin layer of nickel to act as a diffusion barrier between the Au and Cu layers. The nickel solution contains brightening agents which in turn improve the appearance of the final gold layer. After nickel, gold is electrochemically deposited to final thickness. 

3. How thick is the gold plating?

The gold deposit is 80-100µin thick.

4. What is the purity of the gold deposit?

Each piece is covered in .9999 pure 24K gold. 

5. When will new items be added to the website?

We are always looking for additions to our catalog. Mixed media glass art is a niche market. At 657 Productions, we are constantly searching for the new and the old; the large and the small; the unique, and sometimes the forgotten. This curation takes time and we strive to bring it to you in a timely manner. 

6. How do you ship?

Depending on your location (no PO boxes), 657 Productions will ship, your insured item, with one of the major carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL) within 3-5 business days. An adult (21+) signature is always required for fully insured parcels. Tracking will be provided shortly after your item departs our location.

7. What happens if my item is damaged during shipment?

We ask that you please report the damage to us within 12 hours of receiving the item. Shortly after, 657 Productions will facilitate in the filing of an insurance claim in order to refund your money. Due to the individuality of each item, we cannot offer to replace the item. A full refund will then be issued as soon as the insurance claim is paid out by the shipping carrier. 

8. Can i change my order before it ships out?

Most likely, each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis. 

9. When is the chat box live?

The chat box is live everyday from 12:00pm to 05:00pm EST.  Please leave a message if the chat box is unattended and you will receive a response within 24 hours.
